We are seeking dedicated, and compassionate Newborn Hospitalists to join our growing team. We welcome new graduates or established providers to provide care for well newborns, attend level 2 deliveries and support the Special Care Nursery patients. There is connectivity between the newborn hospitalists, neonatologists, and specialists from Akron Children's Hospital offering a collaborative approach to patient care.Physicians will have flexibility to work in a dedicated nursery setting full time (12 -12h shifts per month) or split time in a community Level 2 Special Care Nursery (SCN) within a community hospital (24h shifts), pediatric inpatient service at a community hospital (24h shifts) or pediatric inpatient service at the Akron campus (12h shifts).This role offers a supportive culture that prioritizes work-life balance and professional development Key Responsibilities include: - Provide comprehensive care for well newborns- Attend and manage level 2 deliveries, ensuring the health and safety of newborns- Collaborate with a NICU team for backup and support- Ensure high standards of clinical care and patient safety- Communicate effectively with families, providing education and support- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care- Maintain accurate and timely medical records- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development activities Qualifications include: - MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pediatrics- Valid medical license to practice in the state of Ohio- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), PALS and BLS certification required (will be provided for those not currently certified)- Strong clinical skills and experience in newborn resuscitation- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment- Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care- Circumcision skills are a plus This opportunity offers:•Competitive guaranteed base salary •Starting Bonus paid upon start of employment •Comprehensive benefits package •Occurrence based malpractice •Relocation assistance•Student loan repayment strategies•Access to state-of-the-art facilities and resourcesThis position is a 501(c)(3) site which qualifies for Public Service Loan Forgiveness through the Federal government.
