The Retail Sales Associate delivers world-class customer service to all retail customers by receiving and processing packages for courier shipment and operating copiers, fax machines, point-of-sale devices, and package management software. The Retail Sales Associate also assists in packing items for shipping, servicing in-store mailbox customers and processing returns for our corporate retail partners. The Associate expertly assists our valued customers by providing accurate information on our array of products, services, and best-value options and exhibits confidence by knowing best practices related to the industry.The ideal candidate has previous retail sales experience, strong computer and internet skills, a high school diploma or GED, a friendly and genuinely helpful demeanor, and a professional appearance. He or she must be a fast learner who makes an effort to learn various aspects of the business. This position is for the retail location of The UPS Store - not the warehouse or corporate. The UPS Store is a network of individually owned and operated franchised service-centers specializing in small business solutions.Store hours are Mon- Fri 8:30am to 7:00pm. Sat 10:00am to 5:00pm, Sun 11:00am to 4pm with weekend availability being mandatory. Compensation depends on skills, experience, and progress.RESPONSIBILITIES Delivers outstanding customer service to walk-in customers and telephone inquiriesContinuously practices good listening skills with customers, UPS Store team members, and leadershipTakes ownership of the customer's shipping needs and offers viable solutionsTakes action to learn all product and service offerings, alternative solutions, and industry trendsOperates equipment, software, and devices in an expert fashion and is willing to teach othersMaintains a clean, organized, and safe working environmentPerforms other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or GED requiredThis position requires 1 to 2 years of previous customer facing retail experienceGood communication and people skillsStrong teamwork skills Able to cross-sell and up-sell products and servicesExcellent packing skillsStrong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and POS devicesOutstanding phone skillsStrong verbal and written communication skills, including spelling and mathPrompt, reliable, and responsibleAble to lift 50+ poundsSHIFTS:MorningAfternoonWeekends (mandatory as required)BENEFITSExcellent Growth/Promotion OpportunitiesSick PayPaid TrainingEmployee DiscountsUniforms Provided
