PRIMARY PURPOSE:To support district operations by installation, maintenance and repair of client-centric devices suchas computers, printers, mobile devices and peripherals. Analyzes and troubleshoots issues withclient devices and provides basic troubleshooting of network issues and refers problems tosystems analysts.

QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum Education/Certification:Associate's Degree in Computer Science/MIS, PreferredRelated work experience may be consideredSpecial Knowledge and Skills:

Excellent knowledge of PC and device hardware and major operating systemsGood knowledge of the principles of LAN switching and routing and the ability to determine the likely location of faultsWorking knowledge of network operating systems and the ability to work seamlessly on equipment from diverse network manufacturersAbility to critically analyze and evaluate sequences of events to determine underlying issues with equipment and systemsAbility to logically analyze and organize work activitiesKnowledge of network cabling and installation procedures to TIA standardsAdvanced knowledge of client-related TCP/IP protocolsSkill in personal computer use including accurate typingSkill in writing, documenting, debugging and testing basic scripting in an accurate, efficient and timely mannerAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writingAbility to follow verbal and written instructions.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:1. Maintain computer, mobile device, printer and peripheral equipment.2. Monitor work ticket system for assigned jobs and self-assign where appropriate3. Determine effective and efficient scheduling of tasks4. Deploy new systems and devices and accurately update changes and moves to the districtinventory system5. Troubleshoot network issues including evaluating stance of network ports and position ofdevice on the network6. Ensure district security by properly securing systems and reporting anomalies7. Create and maintain district computer software images8. Remotely assist callers with technology related problems when required.9. Troubleshoot and repair advanced computer and software issues referred by campussupport personnel10. Install and configure district software11. Assist in the training of district users.12. Assist with computer equipment and parts ordering, installation, and inventory.13. Install, maintain and troubleshoot cabling and fiber infrastructure on campus14. Troubleshoot and terminate fiber installations15. Employ effective communication and interpersonal skills.16. Comply with district policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.17. Adhere to the district's safety policies and procedures.18. Maintain confidentiality in the conduct of district business.19. Must be able to perform the essential functions of walking and interacting with studentsand/or district employees in the specific work site assigned (classroom or office setting).20. Demonstrate regular and prompt attendance.21. Other duties as assigned.
