We are looking for a skilled and passionate Software Engineer Level III to join our growing team. As a Software Engineer Level III, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining software applications to meet the needs of our clients and users. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and contribute to the design and implementation of software solutions. This position reports to the Information Systems Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain software applications according to project requirements.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
  • Collaborate with project managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and objectives.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards.
  • Troubleshoot and debug software issues as needed.
  • Write automated tests to ensure software reliability and stability.
  • Mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance, support, and feedback to help them grow in their roles.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating best practices in software development and engineering principles.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or in a business relevant discipline is required
  • 10+ years experience in software development, with a focus on PHP, JavaScript, SQL (especially MySQL), and NoSQL (particularly MongoDB).
  • Proficiency in PHP and JavaScript, including frameworks such as Symfony, React, or ExtJS.
  • Strong understanding of SQL databases, with hands-on experience in MySQL.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases, particularly MongoDB, including data modeling and query optimization.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.

What skills will make you stand out?

  • Familiarity with Git and GitHub
  • Sencha ExtJS experience
  • Amazon Web Services experience including S3, EC2, and RDS.
  • MongoDB
  • Flutter/Dart experience

Work Setting:

  • Full time
  • Hybrid - 2 days in our Brookfield, WI office (not a remote position)
  • Monday-Friday during normal business hours
