Sr. Materials Manager

1. Manage production schedules for all product lines to achieve optimum service levels with minimum inventory 2. Monitor supplier delivery performance of raw materials to ensure continuity of supply with adequate inventory 3. Recommend crewing, shift requirements, and production location changes to Executive Director of Operations as needed 4. Maintain Production Scheduling and Materials Ordering process standards and directives 5. Demonstrate leadership and technical expertise to achieve long range strategies of an effective Production Scheduling System 6. Lead the overall material activities to achieve plant-wide goals for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Inventory and Continuous Improvement 7. Actively contribute to the manufacturing plants strategic vision as part of the Operations leadership team 8. Develop a budget and manage the administration responsibilities for all aspects of the Materials function 9. Provide effective leadership, guidance, coaching, communication, learning and development to team members 10. Perform other duties as required or assigned Education: * Four year degree or equivalent experience Experience: * Material management experience with emphasis on material and production planning preferred * Lean Manufacturing Experience with strong emphasis on Kaizen, SMED, poka-yoke, Kanban, TPM and 5S Communication: * Excellent verbal and written communication, influencing, persuasion and negotiation skills. Administration: * Leadership and integrity; manages by fact, achieves results, builds teams * Bias for action, assertive, decisive * Commitment to achieve key performance metrics and drive for continuous improvement * Vision and purpose, provides direction, inspires, and motivates * Customer focus, meets expectations, internally and externally, forms partnerships Interpersonal Relations: * Possess skill in building interpersonal relationships, including tact, diplomacy and ability to influence. * High level communication skills both written and verbal Analytical and Conceptual: * Analytical problem solving ability, process oriented and strong organizational skills. Special Skills: * Proficient computer skills including spreadsheet, and presentation graphics. Dependability: Must be able to maintain satisfactory record of attendance and conduct. Must be able to work overtime as required.
