The Ranger Group, a US Engineering Solutions provider, is currently seeking a DefenseSystems Engineer to perform modifications and upgrades toexisting defense products. This is adirect hire opportunity based in Columbus, MS. This role will require work to be completed 100% Onsite.

Job Summary

A leader of sophisticated defense systems is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Design Engineer to contribute to the design and development of systems for our products.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and performance of all product systems, from concept through to production, including re-engineering existing products to meet customer requirements and specifications.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Design and development of systems to meet project requirements and performance objectives.
  • Plan and execute comprehensive testing and validation procedures.
  • Analyze test results and make recommendations for improvements or modifications.
  • Collaborate to integrate products into larger defense systems ensuring compatibility and seamless operation with other components.
  • Implement safety and reliability standards and procedures throughout the system's lifecycle.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including system specifications, design documents, test plans, and reports
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to system design and function.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions (RCCA).
  • Ensure that designs comply with relevant safety and industry regulations, and MIL standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including program management, electrical, mechanical, and software engineers, to ensure successful project execution.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in systems engineering to drive continuous improvement in our designs.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Experience leading the full design, integration and test engineering of military systems such as missiles systems or UAVs.
  • Work as a technical team lead for design engineering teams.
  • Proficiency design software and simulation tools.
  • Strong knowledge of system components, including propulsion, GNC, imaging, and energetics.
  • Knowledge of defense industry regulations and standards.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Aeronautics Engineering, or Systems Engineering as it relates to the aerospace & defense industry. Master's degree preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience in systems design engineering for defense programs such as missile systems, weapon systems, and loitering munitions is preferred.
  • Must be a U.S. person as defined by 22 U.S.C. 6010
