Job Title: Pipefitter C General Function:
The Pipefitter C is responsible for laying out, installing, and maintaining vessel piping systems, including heat and power lines, hot water systems, hydraulic systems, air pressure lines, and oil lines.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
The following outlines the general nature of the work performed but is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities:
- Follow blueprints and use hand tools and shop machines for the installation of piping systems.
- Cut and bore holes in bulkheads and decks for pipe installations.
- Cut and thread pipes and pipefittings for assembly.
- Connect pipes to fixtures and test systems for leaks, ensuring systems meet specifications.
- Collaborate with a tacker/helper to perform precision work and resolve issues.
- Be able to interpret and perceive detailed information from blueprints and objects.
- Familiarity with blueprints and drawings related to piping systems.
- Strong attention to detail when reading and interpreting plans.
- Problem-solving skills in precision work environments.
- Prior experience as a pipefitter is preferred.
- Ability to operate a cutting torch and tack welding equipment.
