Description

SAIC is seeking a Radio Frequency SME.This role requires extensive knowledge in the development, manufacture, test and deployment of satellite communications systems to satisfy a range of customer needs. Strong experience working advanced technology concepts for communications and high-speed networking is required. Knowledge of communications systems, data communications, and computer network communications.

The Contractor shall provide the following SETA support:

A) Participate in development of advanced communications system concepts to facilitate the assessment of advance technology needs.

1) Provide technical comparisons and trades with respect to new technologies as to their utility and viability for programmatic insertion;

2) Support assessment of programmatic viability in terms of practicality of the architectures - cost, risk and alternatives. Assess the ability and confidence with which the satellite vendors might be able to execute the envisioned communication system concepts. Support evaluation of impacts and scope of needed satellite launch vehicle and ground support network design, manufacture and test programs associated with the envisioned architectures;

3) Assess the ability of current technical capabilities to support those architectural concepts and support identification of needed technology areas for development;

4) Support flow down of requirements from the envisioned architecture to identify and quantify technology needs;

5) Evaluate proposed approaches to satisfying the technology needs for practicality;

6) Assist in the initiation and ongoing review of technology programs to address the identified needs. Support evaluation of the technical work for relevance and comprehensiveness in addressing the technology needs associated with identified advanced communication system concepts.

B) Participate in surveys of industry and academia in identification and evaluation of new technologies applicable to the customer's mission.

C) Participate in the development of technology roadmaps.

D) Participate in the development and presentation of briefing materials describing the customer's technology roadmap, development plans, and development status.

E) Provide technical and programmatic advice in support of current technology developments contracts.

F) Participate is source selection activities for new technology development contracts including supporting development of requirements and technical review of proposals.

G) Work closely with Government, prime contractor, FFRDC, System Integration contractor, R&D contractor, and program office personnel.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in science, math, engineering or related with 9 years experience or 7 years with a Masters Degree.

- Experience in space communications systems design and analysis.

- Experience in advanced Research and Development activities.

- Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications.

- Effective in writing and communicating technical subject areas.

- Strong interpersonal skills and able to work effectively in a team environment.

- Current TS/SCI w/Poly

SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.
