JOB PURPOSE:

The Transportation Analyst plays a crucial role in optimizing transportation logistics and warehouse operations within a manufacturing plant. This role ensures the efficient flow of materials and products to support production and delivery requirements while maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Collect, analyze, and interpret transportation data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.

•Evaluate transportation routes, modes, and carriers to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and improve delivery performance.

•Collaborate with carriers and logistics partners to coordinate shipments and ensure timely delivery of materials and finished products.

•Develop and implement strategies to optimize warehouse layout, storage, and inventory management.

•Coordinate with production and inventory control teams to ensure accurate forecasting and planning of materials and finished goods.

•Monitor and analyze warehouse operations to identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements.

•Maintain accurate inventory records and perform cycle counts to reconcile physical inventory with system records.

•Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement and production teams to replenish stock as needed.

•Identify and address inventory discrepancies, stockouts, and overages in a timely manner.

•Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all warehouse personnel.

•Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including OSHA and DOT regulations, related to transportation and warehouse operations.

•Participate in safety training programs and promote a culture of safety awareness and adherence.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE / EDUCATION

•High school diploma or equivalent required

•Previous experience in transportation analysis, logistics, warehouse operations, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:

•Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.

•Ability to lift and move heavy boxes and operate in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

•Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

•Communicate effectively at all levels within the organization.

•Excellent computer skills.

•Work independently and productively.
