Richmond, VA What we are looking for: We are looking for a Senior Accountant who will be responsible for supporting our Dover Food Retail accounting functions performing a variety of routine and non-routine accounting functions. This position will require a significant focus on

maintaining the general ledger accounts in accordance with GAAP regulations, account reconciliations and analyses, and assisting in the year-end audit process

. In addition, responsibility for tracking and reporting of capital expenditures. The successful candidate will also be responsible for supporting key activities that relate to month, quarterly, year-end closing, account reconciliations and auditing. What you will be responsible for in this role: Prepare and complete month-end journal entries

. Assist in the analysis and validation of our financial results. Assist with the development and maintenance of cost standards for inventory. Ensure accurate quantity and valuation of inventory and cost of sales. Track and report on capital expenditures. Support AR and AP accounting functions. Respond to internal and external requests, including working with auditors. Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies for assigned duties. Coordinate with FP&A team for budget development and monitoring. Investigate and resolve accounting issues when they arise. Collaborate/Engage with other cross-functional teams. Prepare monthly reconciliations ensuring accuracy in reporting and ledger maintenance. Performs other duties and prepare various ad hoc reports as assigned or needed. What are the basic qualifications? Bachelor's degree in Accounting & Finanace At least 2 years of general ledger accounting or public accounting audit experience What are the preferred qualifications? Oracle experience preferred. CPA or CPA candidate preferred. Experience supporting a manufacturing environment preferred. To be a great fit for this role: Possess a good understanding of US GAA P . Excellent analytical skills and the ability to resolve complex problems with multiple variables. Must be an experienced user of Microsoft Office software, budgeting, financial reporting and general ledger software, also be willing and capable of learning new systems and tools.
