Position Overview
The Fleet Compliance Specialist will support the Company’s vehicle assets, application of transportation and regulatory compliance in an assigned geographical area. This position will also help the Senior Director of Logistics/Fleet deliver exceptional service while following the highest safety, quality, compliance, and transportation standards.
Key Responsibilities(Not Limited to the Following)
The Fleet Compliance Specialist position will be aligned with the Company’s goals, KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators), safety, transportation, operational and customer service priorities. To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to complete the following essential duties and responsibilities:
Support the Senior Fleet/Logistics Director and collaborate with transportation team members and key stakeholders to help maintain the fleet at the highest level of operational readiness within the required budget levels while ensuring DOT (Department of Transportation) compliance
Manage and complete regulatory fleet requirements for IFTA, HUT, IRP, 2290
Track and utilize data to prepare reports for internal and external compliance assurance, and maintain fleet asset data for accurate record management
Assist with monitoring vehicles under repair, follow up on repairs and return to service
Coordinate fleet maintenance; and vehicle safety audits and inspections
Work with the transportation and operations teams to ensure all vehicles are inspected and equipped with required compliance materials
Assist in the response to incidents involving company fleet vehicles or drivers, including accident reporting, investigation, and liaising with regulatory authorities and key stakeholders
Deliver exceptional service and sustain positive business relationships with internal and external customers
Generate new ideas to drive improvement and efficiency for assigned fleet team and assets
Stay informed on fleet and transportation industry trends and changes in DOT and FMCSA regulations and industry best practices
Complete other tasks, assignments and projects as assigned
Qualifications & Experience
The Fleet Compliance Specialist position requires individuals to have the ability to perform each essential job function. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities:
High school diploma, GED equivalent, or 4-year degree
A minimum of 2 years of experience with DOT/FMCSA compliance
Experience in office administration, logistics or fleet management
High degree of professionalism in communication, attitude and teamwork with internal and external customers, and leaders
Excellent organizational and time management skills are needed to complete a high volume of varied responsibilities with excellent attention to detail
Exceptional problem resolution, judgement and decision making and skills
Flexibility to support a 7-day warehouse and transportation operation
Technical Requirements
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
Experience with transportation software & Electronic Logging Device (ELD) platforms

Physical requirements can vary. However, the position may require the following physical activities: Ability to lift at least 2 pounds to a maximum of 40 pounds unassisted; sit, stand, stoop, walk, stretch, reach frequently; moderate range of body motions.
