Responsibilities
The Bone Densitometrist position is responsible for knowing his/her professional scope of practice as defined by the California Business and Professional Code and for satisfactorily completing the Dignity Health Medical Foundation orientation period that includes demonstrating skills and behaviors that meet a fully competent level of performance. The Bone Densitometrist maintains a clean organized and safe environment and performs patient care services that support the physician / providers practice under the clinical supervision of the Radiologist Technologist or other licensed staff. This includes assisting in prepping patients for examinations x-rays and procedures assisting with procedures relaying instructions from the physician to a patient or authorized person and collecting patient data. Documenting patient concerns patient messages and care provided to the patient in the patients medical record.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Satisfactory completion of a formal X-Ray Bone Densitometry or limited X-Ray technology program in an approved school or training facility
- CPR and CRT Limited Permit DEXA/Bone Densitometry or Dual Energy X-Ray Absorptiometry
- Excellent interpersonal organizational and customer service skills are essential
- Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy and physiology for imaging proper operation of and care of Bone Density equipment and radiation safety
- One (1) year experience in an outpatient settingpreferred
- Six (6) months experience in Bone Density environment preferred
- Familiarity with an electronic practice management system is preferred
