Description

Position Summary:

As an employee of the Bank, supports company culture and mission statement to Have a Positive Impact on Peoples Lives. Analyzes financial data to quantify and estimate the degree of risk associated with the extension of credit to firms and individuals. Supports the Credit Department and Commercial Loan Sales Officers through the commercial loan new and renewal process by gathering documents to assist in quantifying risk associated with the extension of credit to business or individuals on all loans.

Principal Responsibilities and Duties:

1.Develops credit presentations for commercial loan renewals and new commercial loan requests. Complete credit presentations for ACH reviews and internal loan reviews by performing the following duties:

• Complete credit presentations for ACH reviews and internal loan reviews
• Reviews all pertinent credit and financial information, including reporting services, credit bureaus, other financial institutions, and bank files.
• Determines the need for more thorough investigation or additional information and contacts appropriate sources for such information.
• Verifies aggregate credit exposure to ensure Bank does not surpass legal lending limit.
• Spreads and analyzes financial statements and related material.
• Evaluates personal and business cash flow to determine repayment ability.
• Analyzes collateral and its adequacy.
• Submits to Sr. Vice President of Credit for review before being submitted for final approval.

2. Initiates the commercial loan renewal process

• Inputs the loan information request into the credit underwriting system for new and renewed commercial loans and ACH requests.
• Accesses public data bases to gather DFI documentation, UCC documents, circuit court reports and real estate tax bills.
• Accesses private data bases to obtain credit bureau reports and environmental data reports.
• Notifies both Commercial Loan Sales Officer and Commercial Loan Assistant that the loan renewal has been established in the credit underwriting system and discusses the documentation needed to proceed.

3. Performs supporting credit duties

• Scans credit documents into the banks document warehousing system.
• Updates the tracking of tax & financial information on the banks customers.
• Completes Borrowing Base Agreements.
• Completes appraisal and real estate evaluation reviews.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

Two-year Associates degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Management or equivalent education and experience. Proficient use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Possesses time management skills, and communication skills (both verbal and written). Is detail-oriented and has the ability to multi-task and work independently.
