Lynn AP supports a wide range of engineering activity including design, analysis, and testing across new, derivative, and existing engines. The lead fan rotor mechanical design engineer will be the fan rotor hardware owner, responsible for execution of mechanical design and development of the fan rotor as part of the fan module team. In this role, the lead engineer will utilize engineering experience to solve problems and recommend technical solutions partnering with teammates and technical experts. This role is best suited for a collaborative problem solver with a desire to deepen their mechanical design expertise and develop new solutions to challenging technical problems. Join us and help move the aerospace industry forwardJob DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities:Execute the design and analysis of the fan rotor by applying engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements with guidance from experienced teammates and technical experts. Properly document technical data generated.Develop specialized knowledge in fan rotor mechanical design and fan rotor integration into the fan module/engine. Stay current with the latest technical developments and internal processes.Provide timely communication if significant issues or challenges arise. Collaborate with people leader and/or teammates to develop action plans to resolve challengesPrepare and present technical data along with recommendations or conclusions to internal and external customer audiencesGain an understanding of competitors and the factors that differentiate designs or productsLead small projects within the fan module balancing some risk and resource requirementsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited college or university.Minimum of 3 years of experience in relevant mechanical design engineering position.Due to the nature of the duties of this position, this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship.Desired Characteristics:Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college or university4-5 years of experience in relevant mechanical design engineering position.Active US Government Security Clearance at the Secret levelExperience with finite element analysis software such as ANSYSKnowledge of 3D Modeling software, preferably Unigraphics/NXUnderstanding of GD&T principles and reading or creating drawingsExperience in design, analysis, and manufacturing of high-precision or turbomachinery componentsPassion for the aviation industry and advancing the state-of-the-artAbility to identify problems, evaluate options, and recommend solutions considering input from stakeholders and technical expertsStrong project management skills with ability to independently organize and prioritize effortsStrong communication and collaboration skills in-person and across geographic sites#LI-MF1This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
