Department: Development
Location: Los Angeles, California
Salary: $26 to $33 per hour
The Development Associate works collaboratively with A New Way of Life Reentry Project (ANWOL) staff and supports the development team in executing fundraising strategies and initiatives to secure resources for the organization's mission and programs.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Research grant opportunities, including individuals, corporations, and foundations and assist in the development of grant proposals and reports. Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and ensure timely submission of proposals and required documentation.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing donors through regular communication and stewardship activities, including solicitation materials, acknowledgment letters, and donor communications.
Assist with the planning, coordination, and implementation of fundraising events.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, fundraising, communications, or relevant experience.
1-3 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or related field.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling fundraising materials and engage donors effectively.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite and donor management software (e.g., Salesforce, Airtable).
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Profound passion for and commitment to the liberation of all people.
Previous personal experience with conviction/incarceration and knowledge of the impacts of incarceration on families and communities preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:
ANWOL offers competitive salary based on experience. Compensation includes medical, dental and vision insurance benefits, life insurance, and 403(b) retirement plan.
Terms of Employment:
Candidate must live in the Los Angeles region and have regular use of a personal vehicle; some travel required.
