Manager III Pharmacy Operations 18 Merchandising Pharmacy The purpose of this position is to lead, motivate, guide and train the pharmacy managers, staff pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians to accomplish the organization's business objectives. To ensure AUSA pharmacies provide a high level of customer service while increasing sales and prescription growth. Monitor pharmacy performance to ensure profit is being maximized through generic dispensing and proper use of labor. Ensure pharmacy is compliant with all state and federal regulations and laws. Field Manager's are responsible for 30-35 stores. > Review management reports on a daily/weekly/and period basis to identify potential opportunities. Report examples: Labor usage, generic penetration, inventory results, purchases from Cardinal, and margin reports. After reviewing reports determine appropriate course of action to improve performance. > Prepare annual budgets for 30- 35 pharmacy departments, which includes projecting sales, prescription counts, operating costs, payroll and profit. The budgeting process also includes the preparation of quarterly and period projections of hours and payroll. This process is performed in conjunction with the pharmacy division lead, the central pharmacy operations lead, and the division operations team (including labor management department). > Enforce company compliance and regulatory rules and procedures through store visits, operations audits, and semi annual compliance audits to ensure that all pharmacies and pharmacy personnel are compliant with all state and federal laws/regulations and 3 rd party insurance requirements. Assure HIPAA Compliance in all pharmacies in order to ensure the privacy of all patient health records. Failure to comply with these regulations can result in severe fines and/or criminal penalties. > Interface with State Boards of Pharmacy, Drug Control & D.E.A., Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and State Legislative Bodies on issues that pertain to legal compliance and public protection in order to protect the interests of the company. > Responsible for training and development of all pharmacy personnel. Provide input for performance appraisals for all pharmacists and interns and counsel pharmacy clerks and pharmacy techs regarding performance. Serve as a reference to pharmacists for professional guidance. Maintain confidential personnel files on all pharmacists and interns. > Oversee inventory management. Manage Physical Inventory preparation procedures and reporting. Oversee Return to Stock and Outdate return process to ensure policy is adhered to and proper credit given. > Source, interview and hire pharmacists and other pharmacy personnel in compliance with company policies. Maintain relationships with pharmacy schools as a steady source of pharmacists. Represent the company at college career fairs for the purpose of recruiting new pharmacy graduates and interns. > Review site locations with Pharmacy Division Lead, Store Operations Lead and Pharmacy Department Head to provide feasibility analysis of operating a pharmacy. Facilitate resolution to construction or repair concerns as needed. Seek and interact with independent pharmacy owners for the purpose of future acquisitions, and arrange all integration details on successful acquisitions. > Communicate to Regional V.P.'s of Operations and Senior V.P.'s concerning issues pertaining to pharmacy. > Investigate and resolve customer service complaints. > Review Incident reports, address with pharmacist, recommend methods of improvement. Document and track for improved performance. 5 - 7 years Pharmacy Manager experience Pharm D or Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy Stop & Shop is an equal opportunity employer.
