Metallurgical/Process Engineer

The Principle Engineer, Metallurgy is responsible for determining the essential fabrication requirements for the selected materials, which include forging requirements, welding requirements, heat treat requirements, corrosion testing requirements and nondestructive testing requirements.Responsibilities:This position is primarily responsible to:Develop and review material selection for projectsReview customer specifications, drawings for proper implementation of the material requirements.Review the inspection plans for equipment with special material requirementsCoordinate projects to solve problems related to material processing, coating, and heat treatment issues.Oversee titanium processing including melting, forging, machining, etc. with vendors in conjunction with procurement and project managementCoordinate and review material testingAssist with any deviated material and concession requestsAnalyze data and develop plan to determine the optimum solution or recommend actionsAnalyze and recommend solutions or test programs for customer or supplier issuesWork with Supply Chain in the identification and qualification of materials related vendorsRequired Skills and Experience:Required: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or universityMinimum of 5-7 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent combination of education and experiencePreferred: Advanced degree in materials or equivalentExperience with an engineering/fabrication company in the oil & gas industry (preferred)Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employee will be required to occasionally walk and be on the manufacturing floor.Work Environment/Conditions:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.This position will require working primarily indoors in a smoke-free office and manufacturing facility but may also require the employee to be outdoors on occasion.Limited travel will be required to support offsite personnel and business projects.Occasional assignments will require remote accessing and may include evening or weekend schedules.The noise level is usually moderate. Employee will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts.Candidates are required to be authorized to work in the United States. All employees must be able to comply with the company Drug and Alcohol Policy, which includes participation in Company random drug testing. Employment is subject to background checks appropriate to the position.
