The consultant will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software releases, meeting the unique demands of the customer. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a passion for working in a collaborative environment.The Build/Release Engineer works collaboratively with all participants in software devepment projects and is supportive of developers and testers as they set up their build dev/test environments. This position also works closely with the module leads and project leadership to improve the software engineering processes and practices associated with continuously building , deploying, and updating softwared and environments.The senior level candidate would be capable of maintaining a library of software via Configuration Management. Capable of building and managing releases of software using Azure DevOps.Job ResponsibilitiesRelease Planning and Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, testers, and product managers, to plan release schedules and prioritize features.Ensure alignment with project goals, customer expectations, and industry trends.Release Pipeline Management: Oversee the end-to-end release process, from development to production deployment.Define and manage release pipelines, including branching, versioning, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes.Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality assurance standards to guarantee the stability and performance of gaming applications.Conduct risk assessments and identify potential issues before they affect the production environment.Deployment Management: Coordinate deployment activities, including software installations, server configuration changes, and database updates.Ensure smooth rollback procedures in case of release issues.Communication and Reporting: Maintain open and effective communication channels with stakeholders, providing regular release status updates.Create release documentation and post-mortem reports for continuous improvement.Release Automation: Drive automation initiatives to improve release efficiency and reduce manual interventions.Implement and manage deployment scripts and tools.Compliance and Security: Ensure compliance with industry standards and security regulations.Collaborate with security teams to address vulnerabilities and maintain the integrity of the gaming environment.Release Environment Maintenance: Manage and maintain various environments, including development, staging, and production.Troubleshoot and resolve environment-related issues.Team Collaboration: Foster a collaborative and productive environment by promoting agile methodologies and best practices.Work closely with development teams to understand their requirements and constraints.Required Skills/QualificationsProven experience as a Build/Release Engineer in the software development industry, with specific experience using Microsoft Azure DevOps pipelines in an Agile environment.Experience working with onshore and offshore teams.Hands on PowerShell and YAML development experience is must.Manages risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule, and quality.Develops scripts and automation tools used to build, integrate, and deploy software releases to various platforms.Skilled with CI/CD tools and best practices involved.Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Strong communication (verbal and in writing) and interpersonal skills.Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple releases concurrently.Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, DevOps) are a bonus.Have strong understanding of object-oriented programming.Be able to analyze and resolve issues with compilation and deployment related to development, branching, merging, and building of source code.Be capable of maintaining a library of software via Configuration Management.Be capable of building and managing releases of software.Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to mitigate and address these issues.Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization.Have strong, highly technical communication skills.Have excellent teamwork skills.Collaborate with other designers, technical lead, project managers, and business stakeholders to prioritize activities throughout the software development lifecycle and deliver high quality experiences in time.EducationBachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.ExperienceTypically has 8-10 years of high-tech industry, Build and Release engineering, product engineering and/or IT work experience.Advanced professional level role. Works on projects that may span a broad range of systems and enterprise-wide complex components.
