Job Description: Finance Director

Overview: As a Finance Director, you will oversee all financial activities and functions of the organization, ensuring financial stability, compliance with regulations, and strategic financial planning. Your role involves providing leadership to the finance team, collaborating with senior management, and making informed financial decisions to support business growth and profitability.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning and Analysis:
    • Develop and implement financial strategies, forecasts, and budgets aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
    • Conduct financial analysis, including variance analysis, financial modeling, and scenario planning to support decision-making.
    • Provide proactive financial insights and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Financial Reporting and Compliance:
    • Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS), and tax regulations.
    • Coordinate audits, reviews, and examinations with external auditors and regulatory authorities.
  • Treasury and Cash Management:
    • Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to optimize financial resources and support operational needs.
    • Oversee banking relationships, cash forecasting, and investment strategies to maximize returns while mitigating risks.
    • Monitor and manage debt, credit facilities, and financing agreements to maintain financial stability.
  • Financial Risk Management:
    • Identify, assess, and manage financial risks, including market risk, credit risk, and operational risk.
    • Implement risk management strategies and internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance.
    • Develop contingency plans and scenarios to mitigate potential financial disruptions.
  • Strategic Planning and Decision Support:
    • Partner with senior management in strategic planning initiatives, mergers and acquisitions, and capital investment decisions.
    • Evaluate business opportunities, ROI analysis, and capital allocation strategies to enhance shareholder value.
    • Conduct due diligence and financial feasibility assessments for new projects and initiatives.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability within the finance department.
    • Promote professional development and career growth opportunities for team members.
Compensation

Education And Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (Masters degree, MBA, or CPA/CFA designation preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or related roles, with at least 5 years in a senior management position.
  • Experience in financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, budgeting, and strategic financial management.
