The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical leadership, guiding complex engineering projects, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and performance in our systems engineering efforts for our international programs. This includes but is not limited to architecture development,export, customer briefings, proposal writing, and customer requirements management. This will include technical documentation, technical project management, design oversight, prototype and production build and test support, integration, verification and qualification, system deployment support and in-house technical support during the operationallife cycleof the system. The position may also require international travel.EssentialResponsibilities:Systems engineering technical lead for the international systems engineering groupProvides technical oversight and expertise to our Export teamLeads / reviews requirements analysis, requirements decomposition and assignment of requirements to appropriate functional areas of responsibility, and manages traceability of requirements back to customer specifications and system level derived requirementsLeads / reviews design synthesis and generation of supporting design documentation which includes technical specifications, interface control documents, test plans and procedures, and test conformance to specifications through verification cross reference matrix (VCRM)Ensures technical performance, quality, and adherence to established policies and processesDevelops and presents project/program design reviews for both internal and external customer audiencesLeads or assists in project/program schedule and budget planning, subcontract control, risk managementLeads or assists in management over systems engineering team and other teams of functional design engineersParticipatesinresponses tocustomer request for information (RFI), request for proposal (RFP) and new business development pursuits, including on-siteand off-sitetechnical interchange meetings andtechnical capability demonstrations Required (Basic)Qualifications:ABachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience. PreferredQualifications:Strong communication skills (both written and oral) and formal presentation skills are required Leadership skills, with the ability to guide the technical direction/vision for a given project. Must also be a strong contributor to integrated product teams internal and external to the companyActive Secret orTop-Secret US DoDclearance is strongly preferredAn understanding ofwirelesscommunication theory, with a working knowledge of digital design, RF design, mechanical design, network design, or software design of digital line-of-sight and satellite communication systems Experience with US government export laws and regulationsExperienceand/or working knowledgeinDigital Engineering, Model Based Systems EngineeringExperience with software programmable architecturesExperience in risk management, project planning, and technical project managementExperience managing projects that include system integration, system verification, and formal qualification, including supporting integration and qualification events at customer locations Effectiveproblem-solvingskills and the ability to meet critical deadlines Experience in requirements management and documentationExperience in product development (preferably in military application environments)Experience in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, DOORs or similar tools
