AllSTEM Connections is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to work onsite in Greenville, SC. Our confidential client is a professional engineering consulting firm with locations in Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity. Salary dependent on experience and education/credentials.SUMMARYOur mechanical engineers design mechanical systems and utilities for industrial facilities and specialize in the design of HVAC, piping, plumbing, and fire protection systems for pharmaceutical and biotechnology plants from conceptual to detailed design. Having your PE is preferred but not required.RESPONSIBILITIESResponsibilities and tasks focus on HVAC, piping, plumbing, and fire protection systems and include but are not limited to:Estimating heating and cooling load requirements for HVAC systemsCalculating external static pressure for HVAC systemsPreparing HVAC zoning, pressurization and air flow diagrams. Preparing ductwork layouts, details, and elevationsSizing and selecting equipmentPerforming mechanical utility calculations and establishing requirementsGathering preliminary cut sheets and vendor quotes for new generation equipmentPreparing general arrangement drawingsPreparing construction and equipment specificationsPreparing piping P&IDs layouts, details, isometrics and elevationsReviewing fire protection requirementsCalculating hydronic piping pressure drops and sizing pumping systemsPerforming plumbing fixture load calculationsDetermining plumbing requirementsInterpreting and staying current with Standards and CodeVerifying field information onsiteParticipating in project interdisciplinary coordination meetingsCollaborating with team members to prepare mechanical utility basis of design and narrativesQUALIFICATIONSCollege degree or equivalent experienceF.E. certification preferred5 - 10 years of design firm experience, related co-op/summer job experience preferredUp to 5 years of CAD and/or Revit exposure preferredIntermediate proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint#J-18808-Ljbffr
