Track the production schedules and shipping deadlines in order to ensure timely orders for required materials
Ensure on-time receipt of and expedite materials as needed for customer requirements
Build relationships with suppliers for transportation and warehousing
Reconcile inventory balance and conduct cycle counting, and monthly, quarterly physical inventory
Generate and adjust purchase orders to support production schedules and monitor status of the order through to receipt of product
Notify and resolve with supplier any quality issues, defects, delivery shortages/overages and receiving/invoicing discrepancies
Maintain purchasing files, logs, and related records as needed
Identify and analyze transaction errors
Manage returns of defective materials, and disposition of waste materials
Follow-up the pending issues to ensure the production schedules meet customer requirements
Provide administrative support, which includes: maintaining the purchase order filing system; preparation of documents and management reports; answering phone inquiries
Providing better communications and negotiations with the vendors
Performs other job functions as assigned
Work with operations and maintenance departments to order spare and replacement parts as needed.
Skills / Requirements:

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivated, adaptable and have a positive attitude
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
Working knowledge of MS Office, Excel, QuickBooks highly desirable
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
