Clinical Manager- Memory Care

- Ensures compliance with standards established by federal, state, and local regulatory agencies, as well as department and facility standards and policies.
- Monitors and maintains areas of responsibility within budget. Assists in developing the annual operating budget and capital budget purchase priorities. Coordinates with Central Supply for ordering of supplies.
- Recommends and communicates applicable policies and procedures. Monitors for compliance with medication, treatment, and documentation protocols. Supervises and provides direct care, as needed, for residents. Provides, coordinates, and monitors health education of residents, their families, staff, and others.
- Completes, or monitors completion of, resident assessments. Develops, coordinates, and/or participates in the development of Individualized Service Plans with residents, families, staff, and Administrator.
- Assists residents and families with transition through the phases of later life and through the levels of care.
- Coordinates health care services with other providers, including but not limited to rehab, physicians, and pharmacies.
- Supervises, or monitors supervision of, The Sylvestery personnel. Ensures consistent and fair application of all personnel and facility policies. Assists in the orientation of new personnel as requested. Evaluates and counsels staff as needed.
- Completes, monitors, and/or approves the scheduling of The Sylvestery staff. Completes, or monitors and approves, the processing of The Sylvestery payroll. Ensures that staffing patterns are maintained within budgeted guidelines.
- Provides direct nursing care, including administration and documentation of medications and treatments, as needed. Maintains a neat and orderly workplace and care environment.
- Participates in planning new care delivery initiatives, including but not limited to development of related policies and procedures, and informational materials and tools. Collaborates with Staff Development for related staff training needs.
- Promotes and maintains effective working relationships within and across service lines. Effectively communicates needs, concerns, or problems, both written and verbal, to improve the quality of resident care.
- Reviews and addresses resident, family, and/or employee concerns and complaints. Communicates the same to the Administrator.
- Participates in developing, periodically reviewing, and evaluating health care service policies and procedures, job descriptions, and performance appraisals for relevant personnel.
- Participates in Quality Assurance related committees and meetings and on Nursing Leadership Council
- Collaborates with Staff Development Coordinator to recommend topics for and to monitor compliance with in-service training programs.
- Shares professional expertise through periodic educational presentations on and off campus.
Position Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current LPN licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia. RN preferred.
- Five years medical/surgical experience with at least two years as a supervisor in an Assisted Living Facility (ALF), Long Term Care facility, or hospital.
- Management background preferred.
- Experience with geriatrics preferred.
- Conversant in current regulatory requirements for ALFs.
- Current CPR certification.
- Computer skills required.
