Job Description

Overview:

The Turnaround/Outage Manager will be responsible for the planning and execution of annual outages at the Shelby, NC Site. This includes coordinating the timing of the outage, resource allocation, cost estimation, stewardship leadership, operation support, and communication plan. The position will also be responsible for oversite of the kitting area and managing of the parts inventory required for the outage.

Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Partner with key operational staff, the gate keeper and MI engineering to create a detailed work list and resource plan for annual outages
  • Plan outages by establishing milestones prior to outages, estimating outage costs, ensuring resources and inventory is available, and communicate plans to site in bi-weekly outage planning meetings
  • Work with project managers to implement project timelines and key contractor contacts into the main schedule
  • Provide a detailed schedule including all tasks, resources, LOTO and walkdown timing using MS Project
  • Hold daily kick off and wrap up meetings with all key stakeholders
  • Provide discovery, schedule status and budget concerns to site leadership daily
  • Populate and implement key lessons learned actions in to ICAP proactively
  • Follow up and prioritize the outage kitting area and spare parts inventory to meet outage requirements
  • Manage the outage safety risk ranking and align with the safety team to establish a plan to mitigate any high risk activities

Requirements

Qualifications:

Preferred qualifications include:
  • BS Engineering
  • PMP Certification
  • 10+ years of project management
  • 5+ years of operations/construction experience
Required qualifications include:
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Solid computer skills including Microsoft Project and SAP knowledge
  • Ability to resource tasks in efficient manner
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize with multiple work groups
