MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor's degree from accredited post-secondary institution, and 12 credit hours in accounting course work from any accredited post-secondary institution preferred or equivalent experience.* A minimum of 2 years' work experience primarily in accounting or finance, or 1 years' work experience in finance in a local school district* Supervisory experience preferred.* Demonstrated knowledge of accounting systems and internal control* Familiarity with budgeting procedures* Computer expertise to include proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and other office applications.* Effective written and oral communication skills* Excellent math, logic, reasoning, problem-solving and research skills

REPORTS TO: District Finance Officer

JOB GOAL: Assist with the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department enabling the district to maximize its financial efficiency.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Assist District Finance Officer in monthly and annual financial close and report preparation.* Assist District Finance Officer in budget preparation and analysis.* Assist District Finance Officer with Board enclosure materials.* Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.* Assist District Finance Officer with daily deposits.* Prepare reconciliations for other accounts and invoices.* Maintain and update the General Ledger chart of accounts.* Assist District Finance Officer with financial analysis and projects.* Maintain banking contact for credit cards / point of sale / remote deposits / other services.* Assist with financial audits (financial, workers comp, IRS, etc.)* Maintain and update the Fixed Asset system for capital assets.* Perform internal audit duties as assigned by District Finance Officer* Review Purchase Requisitions and Orders for appropriate coding, dates, signatures, etc.* Assist District Finance Officer with keeping district aligned with purchasing policies.* Supervise the accurate and timely production of consolidated 1099s and related reporting.* Supervise the Accounts Payable process and staff.* Assist in the preparation of payroll tax returns and related payment of payroll taxes.* Assist the payroll department as needed.* Assist with new/updated automations or software integration.* Work closely with the School Accounting Coordinator to maintain compliance with district policies, governmental regulations, and administrative procedures.* Maintain confidentiality of students and staff* Other duties as assigned by the District Finance Officer

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Compensation will be based on 260 contract days on the board-approved FINS salary schedule.
