Description:
Programs the laser equipment using nesting software
Updates routings for changes made to machined component as well as new components
Identifies new process steps to flatten/shorten route steps and BOM requirements
Determines routings based on engineering drawings and specifications
Evaluates engineering drawing with engineering software
Programs and nests laser parts using nest software
Explores and develops new approaches and processes to increase quality and productivity in the
machine shop
Analyzes blueprints in order to calculate correct part dimension for tool selection, machine
speeds, and feed rates
Ensures that the proper tooling/fixtures required are ordered and available for production
Makes mechanical and/or program adjustments to ensure parts are meeting quantity and quality
requirements
Suggests and/or collaborates on design improvements or alternative methods to manager and/or
design engineers
Verifies accuracy of engineering information for manufacturing
Problem solves and communicates effectively with work team
Contributes ideas for continuous improvement of workflow and processes
Skills:
Cnc programming, Trumpf, Trutops, Trutops Boost, CNC Laser, Programming, Laser, Inventor, AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Related associates degree preferred, but not required
AutoCAD/Inventor experience a plus
Experience programming language TruBoost
Hands on experience and knowledge of machining, fabricating, welding, and finishing of metals
Vessel or trailer design a plus
