Job Title: Locum Tenens Physician Job Specialty: Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology Job Duration: 13 weeks (Ongoing specific weeks in Jan, March, May, June 2025) Shift: Day - 5x8 - 09:00AM - 05:00PM - 40 Hours Guaranteed Hours: N/A Experience: Fellowship of 2 years required License: Not specified Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) required Must-Have: - Board Certification in Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology Job Description: - Work the week of the month that is not covered by other GI doctors.- Each week worked includes: - 1 to 2 days of seeing clinic patients. - 3 to 4 days performing procedures including colonoscopies and EGDs, with approximately 14-18 patients each day. - 1 day of 24-hour call.- Perform Upper GI endoscopy with required skills: - Biopsy - Foreign body removal - Fulguration of bleeder (cautery vs. laser) - Injection of varices- Lower GI endoscopy capabilities: - Sigmoidoscopy (Flexible and Rigid) - Colonoscopy with biopsy and excision of polyp- Preferred skills: - Esophageal dilatation/manometry and interpretation - Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) - Liver biopsy - Insertion/management of Sengstaken/Blakemore tubePlease note that this position does not require ERCP or PEG procedures. The facility has a Level 2 trauma designation with no pediatric level. The estimated credentialing timeframe is 90 days.
