We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, hardworking people to join Alcon As a Buyer Planner supporting our manufacturing site, you will be responsible for ordering raw material components, maintaining supplier relations, confirming the inventory of materials will satisfy all manufacturing requirements, and ensuring the manufacturing schedule and order deliveries meet customer forecasts and build plan requirements in Huntington, WV.

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Assessing inventory levels of raw material components to ensure that stock levels will meet inventory targets and manufacturing requirements
• Providing suppliers with upcoming raw materials forecasts and maintaining good working relationships with all suppliers
• Crafting purchase requisitions, converting purchase orders, and ensuring suppliers confirm receipt of and acceptance of all Purchase Orders (POs)
• Negotiating lead times with suppliers and handling PO delivery schedules to ensure timely delivery
• Supervising and reporting key performance metrics, including inventory weeks of cover, material shortages, and supplier performance
• Using OBP to analyze market forecasts, evaluate build signals, and build manufacturing work orders at the material level
• Using ERP system to open and convert manufacturing work orders, supervise work order progress, and plant FGI inventory levels to ensure market forecast will be met
• Being responsible for and reporting key performance metrics, including backorders, inventories, shortages, and supplier performance
• Handling allocation of site inventory to the domestic and international distribution centers to ensure warehouse inventory levels meet market forecast, maintain safety stock levels, and prevent back-orders
• Advising warehouse transfers for domestic, APL, and Belgium to balance inventory and cover existing or upcoming backorders
• Ensuring accuracy of SOPs and documentation that support job responsibilities
• Performing as a backup for Sr. Planner/Buyer during absences

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +8 yrs; Assoc.+4 yrs)
• The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
• Work Hours: 40 hours per week: Monday - Friday: 8:00 AM EST - 5:00 PM EST

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

• Proficient Knowledge of Excel Based Systems
• SAP Experience
