Material Handler Lead

Who we are looking for:

We are currently looking for Material Handler Lead to be based out of Hobart IN reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor. This person will be responsible for leading all activities regarding the MHO's duties including material deliveries, sorting and proper space management of raw and finished goods, maintaining inventory tracking, and ensuring production lines are fully serviced to meet production demands. This individual will be an excellent communicator and have the desire and ability to train and coach the MHO team to best service the production requirements.

What you'll do:

Additional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining floor plans and designating areas for materials.
  • Safely and effectively operate cab operated cranes.
  • Safely and effectively operate handling equipment associated with all areas of production.
  • Communicate with mill and MHO crews to determine production and workflow needs.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly work area.
  • Repair, re-band, and address non-conforming materials.
  • Lead teammates in efforts to achieve all production supporting goals.
What you'll bring:
  • 5 -7 years' experience being a material handler in a manufacturing setting.
  • 5-7 years' experience using multiple types of powered industrial equipment.
  • A safety conscious attitude.
  • The ability to lead effectively and train/coach employees towards continuous improvement.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Within 3 months, you'll:
  • Master the product flow and how it affects operations.
  • Support the mill and MHO teams to ensure productivity demand is met.
  • Manage the layout and inventory of raw and finished goods.
  • Support production in meeting customer needs.
