They pride themselves on delivering high-quality products and exceptional service. We are seeking a skilled Estimator to manage material ordering, takeoffs, estimating, and project management.

Job Summary: The Structural Steel and Misc Metals Fabrication Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates for projects, managing material orders, and overseeing project management tasks. This role requires a keen eye for detail and strong knowledge of fabrication processes to ensure accurate cost assessments and efficient project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Estimating:

    • Review and analyze project blueprints, specifications, and other documents to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for structural steel and miscellaneous metals.
    • Conduct material takeoffs and assess labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
    • Prepare and submit comprehensive bids and proposals to clients.
  • Material Ordering:

    • Coordinate with suppliers to source materials, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.
    • Manage inventory levels and place orders as required for ongoing projects.
    • Verify material quantities and specifications against project requirements.
  • Project Management:

    • Oversee project timelines and ensure alignment with budget and scope.
    • Collaborate with project managers and fabrication teams to track project progress and address any issues.
    • Monitor project costs and make recommendations for cost control and efficiency improvements.
  • Additional Responsibilities:

    • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
    • Review and negotiate subcontractor and supplier agreements.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in estimating and project management within the structural steel and miscellaneous metals fabrication industry.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, material takeoffs, and cost estimation.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools for estimating and project management (e.g., Excel, estimating software).
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Welding/Technician School is preferred but not required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating and project management for structural steel and miscellaneous metals fabrication.
