Job Description:

The Principal System Operator (Monitoring), classified as key personnel within Task Area 5, is a defining role dedicated to the constant oversight and examination of EOIR's comprehensive IT environment. This vigilant position is crucial for ensuring that the IT infrastructure, both on-premises and cloud-based, is monitored with a focus on security, performance, and reliability. The Principal System Operator is tasked with the identification and immediate response to any irregularities or service disruptions within the system. They are instrumental in maintaining system uptime and supporting the integrity of EOIR's mission-critical operations.

Note: Position is contingent on contract award.

Requirements:
•U.S. citizenship is required
•Must have an Active Public Trust Security Clearance.
•This position is onsite at DOJ designated location.

Qualifications and Experience:
•Bachelors in Information technology, Computer Science and 8 yrs related experience OR Master's and 6 yrs related exp
•Certifications in system monitoring, network operations, or a related specialty are beneficial.
•Demonstrated expertise in system operations and monitoring with attention to security and performance.
•Proficiency with IT monitoring tools and incident management systems.
•Strong situational awareness and the ability to act swiftly under pressure.
•Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills.
•Effective communication skills, capable of working interdependently with various teams.

Responsibilities:
•Continuous monitoring of EOIR's IT infrastructure, identifying performance issues, security risks, and operational anomalies.
•Swiftly initiate incident response protocols, mitigating potential disruptions and coordinating with respective teams for resolution.
•Ensure constant surveillance of systems to anticipate and prevent downtime, by using monitoring tools and following best operational practices.
•Sustain accurate records of monitored activities and incidents, providing a real-time view of the IT health status to government leads or GTMs.
•Support the change management process, ensuring that changes to the infrastructure do not negatively impact service continuity.
•Facilitate collaboration with other key personnel to maintain and enhance the IT enterprise environment.
