DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Head Housekeeper and Senior Operations Director, and in cooperation with other staff, the Housekeeper is responsible for insuring the cleanliness, neatness, and general upkeep of the overall Campground and its facilities. They are responsible for managing these functions in accordance with the stated mission, goals, and policies established by the administrative staff, governing committees, and Board of Directors of the YMCA. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within area of responsibility. Maintains a safe environment through attention to detail. Ensures Camp Buildings are clean by completing all duties listed on the daily cleaning checklist to include cleaning and sanitizing camp buildings and cabin bathrooms. Assists in organizing lost and found items to include cleaning, returning to proper place, and distributing at the end of the Camp season. Takes initiative to address cleaning needs outside of routine duties. Assists in taking inventory of all housekeeping, cleaning, and toilet paper supplies and make sure they are ordered on a timely basis. Tracking and organization of all lines, towels, pillows, and bedspreads. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations. Maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within area of responsibility.QUALIFICATIONS: Six months or more of related experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents. Ability to report and record inventory requests. Knowledge of cleaning methods. Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Ability to work independently, plan, and organize. Multi-lingual desired but not required. WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
