Mid Level Substation Design Engineer Location: **Mount Laurel** State/Territory: **New Jersey** Department: **Power Delivery Mt Laurel Substation Dept** **Description** **Mid Level Substation Design Engineer** **Job Summary** POWER Engineers is currently seeking a mid level Electrical Engineer with experience in substation design. This position is in the Power Delivery Substation Department in our Mount Laurel, New Jersey office. Flexibility is available for a hybrid work environment (employee will need to live within driving distance of the office). **Responsibilities** + Perform and direct others in the detailed design of medium to extra high voltage utility substations. + One-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation equipment specifications, proposal development, construction cost estimates, and project scheduling. + Occasional travel will be required. **Required Education/Experience** + Ability to function as a Mid Level Substation Design Engineer in the Mount Laurel, NJ location of our Substation Business Unit. + BSEE (BS Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology) degree. + Experience in substation design, preferably 15kV through 500kV, and IEEE/ANSI standards. + Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and/or Engineer in Training (EIT) registration. + Experience filling the role of substation design engineer for several projects occurring concurrently. + The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel. + Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship. **Desired Education/Experience** + Five (5) or more years experience in utility substation design as outlined above. + Professional Engineering (PE) license. + Experience in managing small project teams.
