Well-established, successful automotive supplier is hiring a Buyer on a contract-to-direct hire basis. The Buyer will report to the Purchasing Manager and support the Findlay, Ohio site related to MRO, packaging and freight. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Overseeing and completing sourcing in the areas of MRO, packaging and freight
  • Maintaining relationships with existing suppliers and sourcing new ones as needed
  • Negotiating pricing, payment terms and contracts
  • Adapting to changing procurement responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Tracking and entering required information into the organization's ERP system
  • Working within cross-functional teams to improve procurement strategies and find cost savings
  • Making decisions based off of data and working hard to improve reporting strategies
  • Performing other duties as delegated by management


This is a fast-paced position that requires qualified candidates to be on the manufacturing floor up to 15% of their time, supporting plant functions. Individuals should be able to work within team-oriented environments, learn new tasks quickly, be able to handle changing priorities and enjoy supporting the manufacturing site. This position is contract-to-direct hire on first shift with minimal overtime. The goal is for the position to convert to direct hire after 6 months of employmentREQUIREMENTS for the Buyer:1. Minimum of a High School Diploma and at least one year in a similar procurement role (MRO, production, freight, packaging, etc.) OR a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Procurement or Logistics

2. Experience sourcing new vendors and purchasing in a manufacturing environment

3. Negotiation skills

4. Ability to read blueprints

5. ERP experience

6. Microsoft Excel experience, including charts, graphs and formulas Skills preferred but NOT required:1. Automotive supplier experience
