PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Capture the essence of the whole job in one or two sentences.
Pizza Hut is looking for a self-motivated software engineer to be part of the journey to modernize our primary restaurant systems applications. We desire a candidate with significant experience in Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, C/C++, and shell scripting on Linux systems. The position requires participation in the full software development lifecycle as a member of a cross-functional Agile Scrum team. A candidate with these technical skills, who collaborates well with others (QA, business analyst, product owner, scrum master), and who is passionate about Agile processes will be an excellent fit.
JOB FUNCTIONS: List major job functions using simple task statements. For example: Supervises the construction of all new restaurants. (Include % of time spent on each function.)
Develop and Maintain Pizza Hut's In-Restaurant Software Systems - 100%
- Design, develop and test software in Java/Javascript, HTML/CSS, C/C++, shell scripts on Linux and Windows systems
- Advocate for, and adhere to industry-standard best software engineering practices
- Document status of tasks in work tracking tool (Jira)
- Analyze existing software to determine areas for continuous improvement
- Work with leads to plan sprints and deliver solutions for business requirements (user stories)
- Contribute to platform architecture decisions
- Participate in project planning activities - breakdown of requirements into tasks, resource and duration estimation, etc.
- Create functional and technical documentation as required - this may include use case realizations, detailed technical designs, etc.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIRED: State formal educational level and experience required for the job. State additional professional, technical or years of experience required.
- Bachelor's degree in software engineering or a related field
- 5-10 years of professional experience
- Significant experience working on mature Agile/Scrum teams and excellent working knowledge of Agile best practices
- Very strong programming skills in Java/Spring framework
- Very strong programming skills in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Very strong programming skills in C/C++ and shell scripting on Linux platforms
- Experience in NodeJS and Electron is a plus
- Experienced GitHub/Bitbucket user
- Experience with automated testing frameworks and continuous integration systems (GoogleTest, Junit, Jenkins)
- Experience with relational database systems (we use PostgreSQL)
- Ability to work well at every level of the software process, from requirements engineering to coding
- Self-motivated
- Familiarity with Gambas is a plus
- Experience with AWS cloud features is a plus
- Experience with Qt framework is a plus
