Atrium Health Mercy is a full-service community hospital specializing in senior care and complex surgeries, including foot and ankle, hip and knee, bariatric, and women's pelvic health.

The Interventional Radiology Technologist assists in invasive procedures, performs patient care, and maintains the Interventional Radiology Suite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs radiography and fluoroscopic coverage under physician direction.
  • Explains procedures to patients and prepares them for interventional and angiographic procedures.
  • Obtains medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast materials as directed.
  • Maintains patient comfort during procedures.
  • Provides necessary supplies and removes catheters/sheaths as appropriate.
  • Records and processes reports, hemodynamic data, and charges accurately.
  • Communicates equipment malfunctions to leadership or department engineer.

Requirements:

Requires standing, walking, and manual dexterity while wearing lead aprons. Exposure to radiation, secretions, and blood. Normal vision, good eye-hand coordination, and constant concentration required.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED required. Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program or Radiology Interventional Program required. 1 year of diagnostic and 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience preferred.
