Work Type Onsite Location Details Edwardsville, KS 66111 Work Hours Seasonal Team members work 8-hour shifts for 40 hours per week. Shift times may vary, and extra hours may be added to your schedule to ensure we fulfill our commitments to customers. Peak Season (July-December) Requirements Shift hours Monday through Friday; 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, or 10pm-6am Candidates must be available to work the 2nd or 3rd shift seasonally. (All shifts must train on 1st shift for 2 or 3 weeks). Mandatory overtime may include some Saturdays and Sundays. How You Will Make An Impact Varsity Spirit, A Varsity Achievement Brand, is looking to hire Seasonal Warehouse Workers. As a member of the Herff Jones Kansas City Yearbook team, you will be responsible for preparing boxes of books for shipment. With the Yearbook Bindery Production Team, you will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment printing high school and college yearbooks to help our customers celebrate some of their greatest achievements. While you'll lean heavily on your technical abilities, your greatest asset will be your drive and commitment to quality and safety. We live and work in a team environment and rely heavily on each other to assist across a variety of functions and on various machines so if you have a commitment to quality and a passion for your teammates, we want you What We Want You To Accomplish Successfully learn and demonstrate competency in the skills required to support the shipping team within the first five days. Demonstrate better than average attendance and performance. Record no unexcused absences in the first 90 days. Effectively manage the tasks related to successful customer shipments. What You'll Do On A Daily Basis Wraps skids with stretch wrap. Weighs orders on scales. Packages any extra material for shipment (WMM, Supplements, Originals). Prepares samples for plant and salespeople. Counts quantity of books/boxes for each job. Loads and unloads to deliver trucks. Operate a forklift. Operate a power jack. Delivers mail and supplies throughout plant. Prepares mail and FedEx packages. Clean and organize the dock/warehouse. Makes room in the warehouse for more jobs to be put away. Helping with shelving and labeling projects. Qualifications Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. The ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Experience working in a high-volume shipping dock. Able to cooperate and work well with others in a team-oriented environment. Education/ Experience HS Diploma or GED (required) 1 - 2 years' experience in a warehouse/ manufacturing setting Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a bonus Preference will be given to candidates with previous related experience Ability to read and interpret documents such as tracking sheets, order confirmation sheets and work orders Proven ability to excel in a high production manufacturing environment which focuses on safety, quality control, and organization Previous success maintaining a strong attendance and on time record Must be very comfortable with Microsoft Office, with extensive experience with Microsoft Excel Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
