  • Maintains Material Requirement Planning ("MRP") relevant master data in SAP.
  • Reviews MRP requisitions and prepares purchase orders.
  • Confers with vendors and carriers to obtain products or services.
  • Maintains Safety Stock levels of raw materials and semi-finished goods held in inventory.
  • Coordinates with Plant Inventory Managers to maintain inventory levels of non-inventoried (kanban) materials.
  • Coordinates with Plant Inventory Managers to investigate root causes of inventory variances.
  • Coordinates with Corporate Logistics and Plant Shipping and Receiving personnel to coordinate and arrange inbound freight.
  • Identifies opportunities for lead time reduction, inventory reduction, SKU consolidation and other continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinates with Corporate Purchasing Agents regarding supplier performance, special buys, critical sourcing requirements and production forecasts for material nominations.
  • Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors and others to determine sources of problems, and takes corrective action.
  • Expedites delivery of goods to users.
  • Develops management reports and plant status summaries.
Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from college or university required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, and SAP software.
  • Ability to think and act independently.
  • Ability to read, draft and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to understand variation and basic statistics.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
