Job Overview: This position will assist the Program Planning Team with all logistics relevant activities at MBV. The intern's role will be to observe, support and learn critical points under the direct guidance of a professional specialist or manager. The intern will be encouraged to be creative, innovative and resourceful as assigned tasks are carried out and completed in production logistics. This internship is designed to be both educational and practical.
Responsibilities:

  • Develop a tracking and reporting tool
  • Process improvements
  • Sequencing system tracking development
  • Other activities as assigned

Qualifikationen
  • Having graduated within the past 12 months or currently attaining a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Logistics or in a related Engineering field required
  • Experience in the field of Logistics, Supply Chain Management and/or Supplier Quality is a plus
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient working in a multi-cultural environment
  • Desire for continuous development and learning opportunities
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
  • Languages: Spanish and/or German is a plus but not a requirement
  • Specific areas of interest are logistics, procurement, order management, supplier development & supplier quality
  • Applicants must be able to work full-time at the plant
Preferred Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in University, in a gap year between Bachelor's and Master's degree, or recent graduate
- A minimum of 3 semesters of studies in relevant field of study
- Available for a minimum of 6 months Additional details:
- Hourly rates hourly pay rate of $20.00hr for our internship program
- MBV does not offer assisted living or a relocation package for this assignment

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC has invested more than 500 million U.S. Dollars in the new Sprinter plant, which officially opened in 2018. Today, the MBV facility provides more than 1,700 jobs and supports at least 600 additional jobs in the region through its suppliers. Representing an additional nearly $60 million investment, MBV Charleston was selected to be the first plant in the Mercedes-Benz Vans global production network to produce the all-new eSprinter, beginning in 2024. Mercedes-Benz Vans Charleston also continues investing in the local community with over $1,900,000 dollars donated to local non-profits & schools via STEM programs since 2006 and over 900 volunteer hours
Since 2006, more than 350,000 Sprinter and Metris vans have been assembled in North Charleston and delivered to destinations across the U.S. In 2021, the plant celebrated its 15-year legacy of SKD production in South Carolina. 2023 marked a plant milestone with a record-setting over 50,000 vans produced. The U.S. is the second largest market for Sprinter vans after Germany
