Job Description: Provides authoritative guidance to senior management on financial systems and process strategies, and designs/implements novel solutions to new or unique financial management requirements.

Provides lead oversight to the aforementioned functions; plans, develops, and implements accounting systems, policies, and practices to provide management control over the safeguarding of public funds.

Responsible for ensuring that the organization’s strategic plan, mission, vision and values are communicated and integrated into the Office’s strategies, goals, objectives, and work; communicates the milestones to the team.

Leads the Office in identifying, distributing, balancing workload among employees, and redistributing as needed; arranges for Office training; monitors and reports on the status and progress of work.

Ensures proper operation and maintenance of financial systems, which provides the data for the preparation of key financial reports and transactions that flow into the Agency’s audited financial statements.

Provides technical advice on the implementation of new or modified processes or procedures related to programs, systems, functions, policies, and various controversial problems and/or issues.

Provides expert guidance to the staff to execute functions in a manner that facilitates achievement of Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) Enterprise strategic objectives.

Oversees the development of analytical tools, reports, and processes to support the financial and resources management functions of NASA programs/projects to ensure mission success and compliance with all appropriate policies, rules and regulations.

Works with the Regional Finance Office (RFO), as well as with a wide variety of OCFO members, to define technical work requirements and milestones.
