General Manager Reports To: Director Summary The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all Sky Cafe local base operations. A strong business acumen is essential to this role. Job Responsibilities Promote and embody the company core values, ensuring all team members are committed. Responsible for providing a safe and secure work environment for all employees. Promote a Safety-First environment within the workplace. Prepare and deliver monthly forecast for all flight activities and base expenses. Manage corporate financial expectations to maximize profit to budget. Participate in annual budget preparation. Attend regular QBR’s with clients to represent your base. Participate in RFP’s as it relates to your station. Manage and review Daily Labour Percentage (DLP) /Revenue performance and adjust accordingly. Manage and maintain carrier/company KPI expectations. Engage in regular employee/leadership engagement meetings. Ensure employees are in compliance with uniform, appearance, and personal protective equipment policies. Adhere to all policies and follow established procedures. Participate in required meetings, providing input and recommendations. Conduct appropriate Operational/Safety briefings. Conduct training and provide ongoing training support to all staff. Perform audits ensuring all employees are following Company policies and procedures. Communicate regularly with your Director as it relates to the operation. Communicate regularly with all airline customers to foster strong relationships. Attend weekly/bi-weekly/monthly customer engagement meetings. Prepare and be able to present financial and operational metrics regularly. Accountable for meeting or exceeding all safety, financial, and operational objectives. Assess and develop leadership to maximize potential (succession planning). Have a complete understanding of all contract details by carrier and base. Identify high potentials (HIPOTS) for future growth and development within the company. Actively participate in the Safety Management System (SMS). Ensure GPET incident report is generated and sent out within 3 hours of occurrence. Ensure all required training is completed to company standard. Perform all functions of all operational positions, as needed. Delegate job duties as required and ensure completion. Ensure timely execution of all required duties and expectations. Travel from time to time to alternate locations to provide guidance and support. Perform other duties as assigned. Work Environment Exposure to extreme temperature changes and noise. May be required to work in a cold room of 4 degrees or less for extended periods of time. Must be capable of lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50lbs (23 kg) on a regular basis. Regular standing, bending, and lifting during shift. Must be able to work at heights up to 25 feet or more. Able to perform job duties outside in all weather conditions. Core Competencies Efficiently work as part of a team, as well as independently without direct supervision. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, G Mail, Google Drive. Attention to detail in all areas of work. Confident, consistent, decisive personality. Willingness to learn and adapt to a changing work environment. Ability to ensure confidentiality of sensitive information. Strong skills in conflict resolution. Possess a strong safety focus. Strong customer service mindset. Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities. Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style. A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace. Requirements 5-10 years of leadership experience. Possess a valid driver’s license and maintain in good standing. Ability to work on a permanent basis. Obtain a clear criminal record. Must obtain necessary airport and/or Transport Canada security clearances. Must obtain necessary airport vehicle operators permit. Must be able to operate all equipment as pertains to the operation. Ability to work within the required time parameters. Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules. Must successfully complete airline and corporate specific training programs.
