Join SoCalGas today to share in our mission to build the cleanest, safest, and most innovative energy company in America Primary Purpose Applies a highly proficient level of technical expertise in engineering risk assessment principles and analytical ability to perform multi-dimensional systematic risk analysis. Provides increasingly integrated, data-driven and quantified safety and reliability assessments covering generally one to three Integrity Management Program assets. Identifies and measures the effects of Preventative & Mitigative actions on system threats. Formulates analysis outcomes and advises leadership to drive risk differentiation that will enable optimized resource decisions and potentially new programs. Duties and Responsibilities Performs Threat Evaluation and Risk Assessment generally covering one to three mature and complex Transmission Pipelines, Storage, Facilities and Gas Distribution Assets. Performs work with autonomy and aggregates results from a range of technical disciplines. Translates complex results into a unified and integrated risk framework. Applies a highly proficient level of technical expertise in risk and threat assessment. Leverages understanding of different organizations in engineering and operations. Assists in developing vision and directs project team members to achieve results. Develops new and improves existing Company standards, specifications, procedures and policies. Communicates complex information with all levels of stakeholders. Provides technical advice and may supervise less experienced staff members. Interprets state and federal codes and provides technical input regarding codes and standards. Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties). Education Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. A Master's Degree in Engineering or Mathematics is preferred. Experience Requires 8 years of Engineering experience, including 4 years related to risk or reliability, threat evaluation, or integrity management. Preferred focus on integrity management and/or risk engineering. Licenses & Certifications Registration as a Professional Engineer in the state of California (PE) is preferred. Engineer in Training (EIT) license is preferred. Other technical discipline and business training is desirable. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Must have a thorough, up-to-date knowledge of specific engineering disciplines. Must possess the ability to propose innovative solutions to unique problems. Must possess developed project management skills. Possesses advanced oral and written communication skills. Ability to understand and use financial concepts.
