We are looking for a motivated and hard-working hotel marketing professional to join the senior leadership team and lead marketing efforts across the hospitality group.

The Director of Marketing and Sales develops and implements the Settlers Hospitality brand's strategy and campaigns. Their main duties include overseeing the marketing department and building a data-driven and current marketing plan that results in increased sales and revenue. The ideal candidate has a track record of success developing and executing successful hotel marketing campaigns. The Senior Director of Marketing will oversee the marketing department. This responsibility involves assessing and creating the company's marketing strategic plan, plan details, implementing the plan, coordinating, and directing the staff and growing the marketing efforts. They will conduct competitor research, and research demand for an organization's services and products. They are responsible for managing all marketing operations of the organization including development, planning, and execution of various marketing programs and advertising initiatives in support of the organization's growth goals and reputation. They interpret business objectives and develop successful marketing campaigns from idea to execution. They also ensure that the organization's brand and message is clearly defined and distributed across all channels and targeted audiences. They also coordinate and manage the organization's marketing budget.

  • Responsibilities:
  • First and foremost, own the steering of hotel business lead generation for transient and group customers to the enterprise
  • As part of the senior management team, collaborate with and support the executive team with all aspects of running the company
  • Liaise with various areas of the organization to ensure that the objectives and efforts of the marketing department are aligned with the organizations goals
  • Manage service level agreements for marketing team
  • Own and drive the organizations brand strategy in all aspects with both internal and external stakeholders, including possibly redefining and reimagining the organizations current brand strategy to ensure that it is properly aligned with the organizations strategic plan
  • Administer the organizations digital marketing program, including social media, internal website and email campaigns to ensure brand consistency (may include broadcast tv, cable tv, and radio)
  • Create copy, source copy, and/or edit copy from other areas of the organization for marketing pieces, articles, and communications
  • Manage team and marketing distribution channels including website, email, social media, and print
  • Manage online reputation for the agency and individual locations
  • Generate positive online reviews and respond to reviews
  • Design print ads, flyers, emails, and websites
  • Maximize website performance, track keyword rankings, and implement SEO strategies
  • Utilize marketing, communication, and insurance platforms such as Constant Contact, Time.ly, FWI, and the Adobe Suites, and others to reach marketing goals
  • Approve and track to budget marketing expenditures
  • Set and achieve strategic goals related to social media metrics, advertising, and marketing campaign initiatives
  • Understand and guide efforts in graphic design as well as website creation and maintenance
  • Manage, grow, and develop the in-house marketing team
  • Build and manage a network of reliable external agencies and marketing professionals to supply marketing services
  • Conduct market research and stay abreast of competitor positioning
  • Manage co-operative advertising programs with insurance companies
  • Support Sales in new business development initiatives
  • Develop promotions along with managers.
  • Coordinate marketing projects from beginning to end.
  • Develop budgets to include research and development appropriations, expenditures and profit-loss projections.
  • Identify and attract the company's potential customers
  • Create and manage advertising campaigns
  • Some travel required
Requirements

Qualifications:
  • Experience in hotels and an understanding of its products is desired
  • Understanding of hospitality product distribution and how to set Settlers Hospitality apart from competition
  • Bachelors degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field. Master's degree in related field highly desirable
  • 5+ years proven experience in a marketing manager or similar role
  • Competent in MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Self-starter and quick to learn new software programs and technology
  • Growth orientation
  • Exceptional knowledge of current marketing techniques and platforms
  • Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills
  • Creative and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Able to work some nights, weekends, and holidays, as business needs dictate
  • Able to travel as needed
