Description

The Director of IT Infrastructure at the Credit Union plays a crucial role in guiding the organization's infrastructure strategy to ensure seamless and secure operations of both on-premises and cloud-based systems. Leading infrastructure initiatives critical for the Credit Union's growth and operational efficiency, this position focuses on high availability, performance, and security. Working in close collaboration with IT operations, this role drives changes, implementations, improvements, and software/hardware refreshes across the IT infrastructure landscape, emphasizing the secure and stable operation of network and security infrastructure essential for the Credit Union's success.

  • Lead and manage a specialized team of IT professionals to oversee all aspects of the organization's IT infrastructure.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive IT infrastructure strategy that aligns with the organization's objectives, focusing on both on-premises and cloud environment implementations.
  • Spearhead infrastructure projects such as migrations, deployments, and upgrades, aiming to minimize disruption to operations.
  • Engineer and lead technology architecture to ensure high site resilience and business continuity for banking operations.
  • Work closely with IT Operations to ensure a cohesive technology environment, emphasizing infrastructure scalability, stability, and security.
  • Ensure IT Infrastructure is documented and in compliance with NCUA requirements, Board Policy, IT Procedures, and local practices.
  • Be a committed leader in developing the skills and proficiency of the IT Team by writing procedures, coaching, and mentoring team members.
  • Manage the lifecycle of infrastructure assets from procurement to decommissioning, which includes overseeing data center software and hardware refreshments to meet evolving business needs.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans specific to IT infrastructure, ensuring robustness and rapid recovery capabilities.
  • Evaluate and adopt new technologies and processes to enhance infrastructure efficiency, performance, and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, especially those related to data security and privacy.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and collaboration within the IT department and across the organization.
  • Conduct strategic planning to align IT infrastructure initiatives with long-term business objectives, ensuring technology investments deliver value and innovation.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and service providers to secure cost-effective solutions and stay ahead of emerging technologies.
  • Support the cybersecurity program for the IT infrastructure, including regular risk assessments and the enforcement of policies and practices to mitigate threats.
  • Lead the charge in adopting cloud technologies and services, defining the cloud strategy, and managing the migration of on-premises infrastructure to cloud platforms where appropriate.
  • Ensure robust data management and storage practices, including the implementation of data governance and compliance with data protection regulations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with a proven track record in leading infrastructure projects and teams.
  • Deep understanding of and experience with managing both on-premises and cloud infrastructure (e.g., VMware, Azure, AWS), including network, storage, and computing resources.
  • Expertise in disaster recovery planning and business continuity practices specific to IT infrastructure.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
  • Experience in a highly regulated environment (e.g., banking, healthcare) with a thorough understanding of relevant IT regulations and standards.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Cisco CCNA) are a plus.
