Job Description: The Lifestyle Enrichment Director (LED). The LED holds a critical role in carrying out our mission by making our Guests’ experiences at our Center as rewarding as possible. The LED’s primary role is to execute and oversee the activities program as well as manage and supervise Guest Care Staff. The LED will create a diverse activity schedule designed to enhance and maintain our Guests’ cognitive, physical, social, and emotional well-being, and ensure that Guest’s needs are met, and Caregivers are engaged and adhering to IADC standards Essential Functions: Supervise Guest Care Staff. Oversee and execute a diverse activity program with person centered care. Ensure Guest preference and choice are honored. Delegate and assign activity-related tasks to Guest Care Staff and ensure timely completion. Coordinate scheduling of external activity opportunities, including speakers, performances, education, spiritual offerings, intergenerational and community connections, music therapy, and art therapy. Organize and schedule weekly outings. Adhere to the Lifestyle Enrichment Standards. Attend to the daily needs of Guests on an individual basis as well as foster increased independence, and self-determination. Regularly take photos of activities, outings, and provide a monthly activity summary for the Center newsletter. Collaborate with Executive Director/Center Nurse in creating Guest Care Plans. Communicate with Executive Director regarding Guest Care Staff performance relative to areas requiring corrective action and/or Guest Caregiver development. Act as on-site Supervisor in lieu of Executive Director. Monitor the work performance of Guest Care Staff to ensure performance of job duties as required. Utilize necessary data and surveys to ensure quality programming and person-centered care are provided. Record daily CACFP charting, progress notes, ensure Guest activity documentation is completed, and complete all other care plans and required program documentation daily. Ensure Guest safety and comply with program standards for Guest Caregiver coverage. Maintain knowledge of on-going program issues and developments; inform supervisor of program issues and concerns. Communicate in a professional manner. Lead professional referral sources and prospective Guests on tours of the Center. Participate in Guest Assessment process and document all assessment findings. Perform duties consistent with center policies and procedures. Remain alert at all times throughout scheduled work shift. Provide crisis intervention and access emergency services as needed. Attend and actively participate in morning stand-up, leadership, and Guest Caregiver meetings. Assist at alternate Independent Day Care Centers locations if requested by your supervisor. Other job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Leadership experience managing a team and/or supervisory experience in an adult day center or similar setting required, or Secondary, degree in Recreational Therapy (CTRS preferred), Social Work, or related field. Direct care experience working with geriatric and/or adults diagnosed with Intellectual Disabilities preferred. Valid driver's license in state of residence. Qualifying criminal background and driving record. Must be able to demonstrate competence in certain areas of training including but not limited to CPR, First Aid, non-violent physical interventions, behavior management, and driving. Ability to calmly and repetitively redirect behavior in difficult or challenging situations. Ability to react to situations, i.e., rescue, preventing a Guest from harming themselves. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to use general office equipment such as computers, photocopiers, telephones, etc. The employee must be able to drive a car and perform housekeeping duties such as cleaning, cooking, snow shoveling, etc. The job may require exposure to outside weather conditions while working with Guests. PSYCHOLOGICAL REQUIREMENTS: The employee must possess the ability to process vague, abstract verbal and written instructions; work under stress, interruptions, and tight deadlines; problem solve, answer questions and evaluate results of performance; and visualize and assess abstract ideas.
