Transportation Analyst

Job Description:

Cross Ship Analyst
Contractor will provide general clerical/administrative support. This will typically require prior experience providing administrative support to Directors and/or Officers, a superior proficiency in computer software programs such as Microsoft office, Excel, Power Point, and Access database management, and superior written and verbal communication skills. Transportation background with experience is required and SAP experience is preferred. Strong customer service skills as this position will work directly with sales team to approve or deny cross regional shipments. Identifying and adhering to a standard when analyzing freight cost as a percent to sales.

Daily responsibilities:
Manage share point cross ship request portal.
Review, conduct transportation freight % spends per request, approve, or deny requests.
Ensure all requests have been processed by end of day.
Escalate any requests being re-requested for approval where it was previously denied to Sr. Manager for review and advisement.
Address any current or potential issues with requesters and escalate to Sr. Manager if assistance is needed.
Review request trends and advise Sr. Manger if additional bandwidth will be needed to process all requests by end of day due to volume surge.
Process requests to update SAP - adding freight and adding route.
Work with IT for any updates, issues, maintenance, to the share point cross ship portal.
Provide training to requesters that are not filling out request properly or need onboard training.
Participate in any assigned projects, implementations, or analysis.

Must haves:
Mercury gate, E2 or any similar Transportation Management System
SAP experience
