**Job Description**:

INFICON is seeking a Buyer/Planner in our Production Planning Department.

The position will be responsible for planning the companys process to the best source of supply for components, materials and services to meet customer requirements and INFICONs corporate objectives.

This position will play a critical role in ensuring that INFICON's Supply Chain organization delivers on time, with a quality product and at a cost that we and our customers expect. The Buyer Planner position interfaces with all aspects of our manufacturing production process along with our relationship with suppliers, quality & the ability to respond quickly to changing supply requirements.

The ideal candidate must have good people skills, provide effective and efficient communication skills to internal and external parties. Be able to negotiate and recommend change while being detail oriented. The ideal candidate is expected to build working relationships with other departments and our supply base. As a Buyer/Planner, you will be part of a growing team and have the chance to bring forth new ideas and suggestions.

**Responsibilities:**

* Implement and manage production schedule for assigned product lines to meet customer delivery requirements and adherence to published or agreed to lead times

* Purchase electro-mechanical assemblies, ceramics, cables precision machining parts and schedule product lines for the factory, release production orders and maintain Kanban systems.

* Ensure that Quality and Lean measures are part of the procurement process

* Interface with Manufacturing, Engineering, Customer Service, Purchasing and Product Line Managers regarding order status and production planning issues

* Execute Engineering change requests as they pertain to assigned products

* Procure material to meet quality, price, inventory and delivery requirements using MRP. Maintain ERP system information related to assigned business lines, suppliers, and items

* Support Supplier Evaluations and Supplier Scorecard processes, including occasional supplier visits

* Own daily working relationships with suppliers and manage improvement initiatives.

* Participate in cost avoidance/cost saving initiatives in support of business goals along with other daily tasks and procedures that arise

**Qualifications:**

* Bachelors degree required. Preferably in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Engineering. Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing, production planning or procurement role

* Ensure there is a robust root cause analysis and corrective action process in production & with supplier to ensure on time delivery

* Experience in a Lean Manufacturing and Supply Chain pull systems. Experience in implementing Lean Practices and Pull Systems is highly desirable

* Creative problem solving and ability to communicate and build relationships both internally and externally

* Self-motivated and capable of concurrent multi-tasking situations in a team environment

* Demonstrated sense of urgency to support customer requirements and company objectives

* MRP and/or Purchasing and Planning system experience is highly desirable

* Excellent computer skills with an emphasis in Microsoft applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

* Some travel is required

**Preferred Qualifications:**
