Position Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for modeling the Compassus values of Compassion, Integrity, Excellence, Teamwork, and Innovation and for promoting the Compassus philosophy, using the 6 Pillars of Success as the foundation. S/he is responsible for upholding the Code of Ethical Conduct and for promoting positive working relationships within the company, among all departments, and all external stakeholders. The Senior Financial Analyst will be part of the FP&A team and is responsible for the analysis and reporting of financial performance across the organization. This position develops and conducts complex financial analyses to support operational and strategic objectives.

Position Specific Responsibilities
  • Designs, develops, and modifies financial forecasting models, return on investment analyses, and key performance metric scorecards.
  • Performs ad hoc analysis using data from various systems and package recommendations into clear and concise presentations.
  • Identifies variances, trends, and risks/opportunities by utilizing both internal and external data.
  • Manages multiple workstreams and collaborates with Operations, Accounting, and other functional areas.
  • Leads and improves reporting process to reduce time and assist business in decision-making.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of cost center hierarchy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required. A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of work experience in FP&A, Corporate Finance or a related field required.
  • Data analysis, advanced Excel skills and financial modeling experience required.
  • Prior experience and proficiency in financial reporting systems (e.g. Workday Financial) preferred.
  • Prior experience with forecasting software (e.g. Planful or Adaptive Planning) preferred.
  • Prior experience with PowerBI or Tableau preferred.
Skills
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leaders, colleagues, investors, and external parties. Strong written and verbal communications.
  • Other Skills and Abilities: Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail. Ability to work in ambiguity and manage multiple deadlines. Advanced Excel skills with proficiency in PowerPoint. Ability to understand, read, write, and speak English. Articulates and embraces hospice philosophy.


Physical Demands and Work Environment: The demands of this role necessitate a team member to effectively perform essential functions. Regular standing, walking, and manual dexterity are fundamental, along with the ability to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds.
