The Internal Risk Analyst will support the execution of the Risk Management framework and strategy throughout the organization. Working with the department leadership to drive internal risk management activities including, identification and mitigation of risk, development of internal audit plans, conducting audits and working with department on remediation plans.
Essential Functions:
- This position will strengthen CBH's Risk Management program by supporting the agency's risk assessment and risk management activities including:
- Maintain awareness of the current regulatory/industry trends impacting risk management principles, policies, and procedures.
- Perform analysis of risk trends and data discrepancies, while effectively communicating analysis output
- Design audit objectives and procedures for scheduled and unscheduled internal audits, reviews and special projects as assigned.
- Communicate audit findings to audited departments and senior leadership to ensure the audited entity's understanding of the matters identified.
- When necessary, assist in the development of corrective action plans to ensure compliance with regulatory bodies.
- Monitor risk management processes including risk registers.
- Assist in the compilation of Risk Management materials and dashboards to report to leadership.
- Evolve the risk culture across the organization.
- Assist in conducting risk management general education and customized training
- Education: Master's degree preferred. Bachelors degree required.
- Certification in Risk Management and/or Certified Internal Auditor highly desirable
- 3+ years' experience with Managed Care organization or health plans or 3+ years' experience in health care risk management. compliance auditing and monitoring.
- Skills:
- Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources.
- Strong attention to detail
- High level proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High comfort level with public speaking and training
- Knowledge of Medicaid regulations and requirements
- Strong analytical skills, ability to see the "big picture" and linkages between risk programs and data
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff
- Ability to manage ongoing projects and prioritize appropriately to meet deadlines.
- The successful candidate must be a current Philadelphia resident or become a resident within six months of hire.
