ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Responsible for daily and weekly updates on all projects assigned. Complete surveys in multiple phases of field surveying (FDOT, Mortgage Survey, Construction Layout, etc.) Research and obtain maps, deeds, CCRs, project control, and any other documentation that can increase accuracy and performance on a project without assistance. Sets up, adjusts, and operates surveying equipment, including electronic total station, data collector, and GPS equipment, to measure distances, elevations, and angles. Prepares field notes and drawings; and performs field surveying for roadway, bridges, and flood control projects, including installing surveying construction stakes, tying out existing intersection ties, and locating or establishing vertical and horizontal control, right of way, monuments, corners, boundaries, and property lines following SSMC or Clients requirements. Ensure that the truck has the necessary materials for each day's week's work tasks. Load and unload survey equipment to and from work vehicle. Set up backsights and foresights. Efficiently demonstrate set up, level, and operation of instruments. Correctly make measurements of instrument heights. Perform Axis tests. Anticipate where shots need to be taken without being told, and run topo and level rod efficiently. Assist Licensed Surveyor and Mapper in applying principles and methods of Land Surveying. Assist in developing and implementing new procedures and practices. Perform boundary research, calculation, and analysis. Perform deed research and deed plotting. Prepare legal descriptions, survey drawings, and plats. Provide technical office support. Perform quality control checks of drawings and deliverables. Ensure schedules and production objections are met. Ensure accuracy of reports by data review and resolving discrepancies internally for assigned projects. Plan, prioritize and organize effectively; and the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all staff and clients. Organize, multi-task, prioritize and re-prioritize daily workload and work with minimum supervision and the ability to meet deadlines, establish deadlines, and prioritize deadlines. Collect, organizes, disseminate and analyze significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Carry out other duties as assigned by management.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE Associate degree in Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) and Design or equivalent. A minimum of 5 years experience in CAD, Crew Chief, or equivalent. Certified Survey Technician Certification Level III+, SIT certification is a plus. Must be proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D. MicroStation is a plus. Familiarity with industry codes and standards. Prior experience surveying and proven they can perform all Rodman and Iman tasks. Must obtain badges and certifications necessary to enter sites and perform work (i.e., MOT, School badges, Duke Energy, CSX, DOD, etc.).
